What is Reiki?
Reiki Healing is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. The word Reiki stands for Universal Life Force Energy.
It is administered by "laying on hands" of the healer on the patient. After a treatment one feels relaxed and rejuvenated as if woken up from deep sleep.
How does Reiki work?
Reiki understands that there is a strong connection between the mind and the body. When the mind goes into negative thoughts, it causes stress and affects the natural flow of energy to the cells of the body. When the natural flow of energy is blocked, it results in physical disease and mind related disorders. Most of us are not aware of this and keep trying external solutions such as medicines to fix our minds and bodies.
The energy of Reiki works on these energy blocks, dissolving them and restoring natural flow of energy to all organs and thus helps the person to return to health and wellbeing.
Benefits of Reiki

- Supports healing

How does one practise Reiki?
To practice Reiki for self or for others one needs to have been attuned to Reiki Shakti. Attunement is done only by a Reiki master in a Reiki class. In the Reiki class, they also teach you how to practice. There are zero restrictions on when to practice Reiki and where. Reiki can be practised in any comfortable position, anywhere and at any time e.g. lying down, sitting, standing, in airports, train stations, rickshaws, waiting rooms, hotels, offices, hospitals, before food, after food, before sleeping, after you wake up etc.
The practice simply involves laying your hands on different energy points and chakras for a specific period of time. Daily practice takes about 18-36 minutes.
What changes can I expect after learning Reiki?
In the Reiki level 1 class itself your energy body goes through 2-3 rounds of full body cleansing. On the first day itself most people feel a change-feeling more fresh, relaxed and positive.
Regular Reiki practice typically brings about following changes
- Peace of mind
- Better sleep
- Reduction in body pain
- Improvement in physical issues like acidity, skin disorders, high blood pressure, allergies, asthma, diabetes etc
- Relief from anxiety, depression and anger
- Clarity and self confidence
What all can be healed via Reiki?
Every case and every result is unique and we cannot generalize or give any guarantee of the result.
Typically, we have seen that people become calmer, relationships become smoother - bitterness reduces, kids become receptive to parents, patient's body responds better to medical treatment and many more such similar situations where an energetic push helped to get to a healthier place without unnecessary struggle.
We do get questions such as "Will Reiki healing help me to get a job or get married or get a visa?" etc. Or "Will Reiki be able to influence my loved one to make what I think is the right decision?"
For all such situations we have only one answer - Reiki cannot change what is written in your destiny. Reiki can only help you get to it in a much smoother way.
For e.g. if marriage is not on the cards for you and if you are feeling desperate to get married, Reiki helps you to calm down, accept the situation and eventually become peaceful with your single life and choices. Or if you are looking for a job, Reiki helps you find the most appropriate job in the first or second try, rather going through the stress of multiple interviews, rejection, confusion etc.
Most of our struggles arise from the fact that we have pre-determined ideas about how our life should be. And if things do not go as per our expectations, we struggle. We find it hard to accept the situation, we become fixated on what is lacking, we find faults and blame others and ourselves, we become stuck and we are unable to see the hidden blessings in the current conditions.
Reiki helps us to become more flexible and release this non acceptance. Once we accept the situation or the person whole heartedly, they become "ours", we are able to see the good parts, we become "unstuck" and move forward.
