Meditation is a broad term that covers everything from being engrossed in the act of painting to Nirvana.Deep Relaxation is one of the stages that occur in meditation as you start withdrawing from the external world and connecting with yourself in a deeper way.
A Deep Relaxation session is a session of 40-60 minutes where we consciously activate the Relaxation Response of the body using Yoga, Pranayama, Chanting, Music, Reiki,Chakra Balancing and Crystals. At each stage we progressively let go of our thoughts and worries and go deeper within ourselves, emerging relaxed and refreshed at the end of the session.
These sessions are completely different from any kind of psychotherapy sessions. There is no talking, no analyzing or explaining - simply lying down and letting the crystals and Reiki work their way around your Energy Body. There are no mystical experiences, no miracles or any esoteric rituals - there is simply a sensation of energy, a feeling of relaxation and the gentle activation of the inner wisdom.
The effect of this practice lasts throughout the day, providing you a balanced and calm temperament so that your day becomes focused and productive. If practised on a regular basis, Deep Relaxation brings about a sense of ease and clarity to life and you are able to focus on your goals and move ahead without getting lost in the many inconsequential distractions of daily living.
When practised on a regular basis (2-3 times/ week) for a period of time (1-2 months), you enjoy immense benefits such as a dramatic increase in your focus, concentration, energy levels, satisfaction and patience.
Deep Relaxation is a completely safe practise and anyone can sign up for it. It can be done while sitting on the floor, on the chair or lying down.
For each individual, the process of Deep Relaxation proceeds at its own pace and comfort level. One finds that with regular practice, and over a period of time, it gets much easier to shut out the external world and stay deep within oneself.

All our sessions start with gentle, mindful stretching. Stretching helps to release the restless energy of the body. Stretching is followed by Pranayama and Chanting. Each step gradually quietens the mind. Our mind is used to constant multitasking, being stimulated by gadgets or doing something or the other. Hence, initially, it is difficult for us to sit still. One should not be discouraged by this and conclude that meditation is not for me. In fact meditation brings about the biggest benefits to those who are restless and distracted.
Like everything else, meditation requires regular practice and patience. When practiced regularly (2/3 times a week) for an extended period (4-6 weeks) you will start noticing differences in your state of mind and sleep.

Yes. At y2lStudio we do allow members to sit on chairs. We do not really expect most members to be seated still in the cross legged position for the entire 1 hour. We encourage members to be as comfortable as possible, to take back rest and to spread their feet whenever they want. Our philosophy is that only when the body is comfortable, will your mind be free to focus on subtle things such as your breath and thoughts. We want meditation to be accessible to one and all.
